But TWO gorgeous children.  Preston stole some hearts with the last post...and now it's Maddy's turn.

Her school pictures came in recently and I'm very happy with them.  They have managed to capture a natural smile from her every year at her school...not an easy task.

Yes, I'm posting again.  So many fun things to share.  I've been meaning to post this picture for a while.

Yes, of course I'm biased...but, come on...isn't he just the CUTEST little thing you've ever seen!

This is Preston at Ryan & Carolyn's wedding in August.  He just melts my heart!

We had a great weekend, first it was 3 days long...Maddy and I both had the day off Friday.  Saturday, Maddy had a playdate with her 2 best friends, Katie & Landry.  And Preston and I ran some errands..tried to spend some money at the mall, but just wasn't feeling it.

And then we picked up Madeleine and headed out to the Carlsons' lake house.  It was a short trip but so relaxing.  We arrived and had a light dinner, played a little outside.  Then Sunday we took a long bike ride to see some nearby horses and feed them carrots...unfortunately the horses were all up at the barn.  But the bike ride was a lot of fun anyway.

On our way back to Dallas we decided to stop by the horses one more time...now they were all out and very eager to share our apples.  We had so much fun...until the fire ants found us:

So, one missed photo op...but back at the house I did manage to snap a rare picture with both kids smiling AND looking at the camera:

Maddy is growing up too fast.  Tonight I was about to break the news to the kids that it was bath-time...something they usually protest (well, Maddy does) until she's in and then you can't drag her out...and I turned the corner and she was already sans clothes and pronouncing that she was taking a shower.

A SHOWER??!!??  What happened to my little girl that was terrified of the water falling down on her?  I mean, it might get in her eyes...her EYES!

Well, there was no fear tonight...just glee in the fact that her mom was torn apart by her growing up! 

But she's still my little girl...Preston quickly joined her and they faked terror while being caught in a horrible rain storm with killer snakes ready to attack.

Scrapping definitely comes in waves for me...and trying to dive back in right now.

Have some reorganization of files to make the flow from laptop to desktop work a little better, it's a bigger job managing photos/scrapbooking files than it is to make the pages...but worth it in the end.

    The kids and I brought a picnic lunch to our nearby nature preserve and then walked it off with a hike through the woods a couple of weekends ago. 

   We had a great time...even saw a snake slithering through the grass!

   I'm so glad we discovered this place...it's about a 10 minute drive from the house and is just a nice change of scenery.

And last weekend we hit up the local arts festival:

We had a lot of fun looking at the artwork and enjoying the nice weather.  I bought a couple prints from an Austin artist-Jay Long.  The first will be for my office (whenever I get around to decorating) and I also bought a small print of: (minus the wood frame...that's not really my style)

Looks better in person.  The originals are pretty impressive...kind of 3D shadow boxes...but not in the budget right now.

And this weekend...not much to share.  Saturday we did next to nothing...which was WONDERFUL.  And today we went to a couple of birthday celebrations and had dinner with Bubbe, Papi Ken, & Robin.

So happy this weekend is ending...I've been on call since Friday and I'm ready for a break.  And I have tomorrow off....yea!!!

Well, not really...still pretty hot in Texas right now.  But we did bundle up and hit the ice skating rink recently.  Maddy has taken a liking to ice-skating and isn't too bad (no surprise...that girl is good at everything!)  We were lucky to be joined by Robin, who entertained Maddy while I broke my back skating with Preston:

Maddy had no problem walking around in her skates to the rink...Preston, quite a different story!
