Can't be more grateful to have today off!  Carolyn & Ryan were married on Saturday and the wedding weekend spanned Thursday through Sunday.  It was SO much fun and the ceremony was very special, but I needed today to recover

I don't have a lot of wedding pics and haven't uploaded the few that I do, but promise to share some soon!

And the big reason for this post:  MADDY STARTED KINDERGARTEN TODAY!!!!

Auntie (Aunt Carol) joined us to take Maddy to school and acted as photographer.  Can't thank her enough because these are by far the best first day of school pictures I have of the past 3 years!  Maddy has a lot of old friends in her class and a couple of new ones from her summer cooking class and a lot of new people to meet.  She really loved her first day and is excited for tomorrow! 

Well...I'm very happy today because it's my day off!!  I just love my new schedule.  The day changes every week, but having a weekday free is so wonderful.  It is so nice to have a day to get stuff done and it makes the rest of the week fly by!

She did cry...but was very tough.  I'm so proud of her.  And she loves them

Maddy has secured a position as a professional flower girl...already booked for weddings # three and four, and this time Preston gets to join in the action as ring bearer in Ryan & Carolyn's wedding.  We did a trial run with his tux the other day and he just melted my heart:

Preston thought he was pretty hot stuff too.  He couldn't stop checking himself out in the mirror. 

I started work on Friday...survived day one.  Definitely a different experience but I'm very excited about my practice and getting comfortable with having my own patients.  Before work started though, we squeezed in some more summer fun.

Just little stuff like:

Hanging out with Ryan and Carolyn, playing games, doing art projects.

Maddy did a summer session of cooking class at her school. 

She finished on Friday and brought home her cookbook and her trusty chef's hat.  We made egg salad from her new recipe:

We met up with a couple of Maddy's friends and their moms for lunch after school one day.  We had a lot of fun.  This patio overlooks a pond and the kids all fed their leftover french fries to the ducks (very healthy for them, I'm sure!)

Okay...guess that's all.  I should get some rest before day #2 at work.  Although, I may have to crack open my new guilty pleasure...the newest in the Twilight series: Breaking Dawn.  Thank you to Silvia and Drea for getting me completely hooked (and head over heels for Edward.)
