Preston did a pretty good job of keeping up with Maddy and Thomas.  And they all scored BIG in the candy department!

Two more celebrations before the actual day:

First Auntie took the kids to Uncle David's office for some festivities and candy early in the week:

And can't forget the PUMPKIN PATCH! We drove out of town this year to a pumpkin farm and fed goats/sheep/cows, went on a hay ride, & picked pumpkins.  I think a new tradition has been born.

This year Halloween was extra fun because the costumes got to make lots of appearances.

I'm splitting up these posts because I have LOTS of pictures to share.

First we celebrated in Houston with Ben & Silvia & fam...they hosted a great party last weekend, complete with a bounce house and apple-bobbing (Ethan was very helpful to Noah in his search for an apple.)

Aside from Halloween festivities, we had a great time hanging out with family.  We also got to see Curtis, Lorraine, & the boys.

And had a wonderful lunch with the grandparents (can you believe this gorgeous October weather!)  And the spread Grandmother put together was amazing...esp given the short notice we gave her.  No surprise there...she does everything perfectly!

And we had a lot of fun watching the boys soccer games...Maddy & Preston got into the action too:

Hmmm...what might we be doing with all this wood?  We started our weekend by meeting Lorraine at the shop and picking out our new wood floor!!!  Won't happen until spring probably, but I can't wait!!!

But TWO gorgeous children.  Preston stole some hearts with the last post...and now it's Maddy's turn.

Her school pictures came in recently and I'm very happy with them.  They have managed to capture a natural smile from her every year at her school...not an easy task.

Yes, I'm posting again.  So many fun things to share.  I've been meaning to post this picture for a while.

Yes, of course I'm biased...but, come on...isn't he just the CUTEST little thing you've ever seen!

We had a great weekend, first it was 3 days long...Maddy and I both had the day off Friday.  Saturday, Maddy had a playdate with her 2 best friends, Katie & Landry.  And Preston and I ran some errands..tried to spend some money at the mall, but just wasn't feeling it.

And then we picked up Madeleine and headed out to the Carlsons' lake house.  It was a short trip but so relaxing.  We arrived and had a light dinner, played a little outside.  Then Sunday we took a long bike ride to see some nearby horses and feed them carrots...unfortunately the horses were all up at the barn.  But the bike ride was a lot of fun anyway.

On our way back to Dallas we decided to stop by the horses one more time...now they were all out and very eager to share our apples.  We had so much fun...until the fire ants found us:

So, one missed photo op...but back at the house I did manage to snap a rare picture with both kids smiling AND looking at the camera:

A big thanks to Kenny & Rachel for hosting us this weekend!

Maddy is growing up too fast.  Tonight I was about to break the news to the kids that it was bath-time...something they usually protest (well, Maddy does) until she's in and then you can't drag her out...and I turned the corner and she was already sans clothes and pronouncing that she was taking a shower.

A SHOWER??!!??  What happened to my little girl that was terrified of the water falling down on her?  I mean, it might get in her eyes...her EYES!

Well, there was no fear tonight...just glee in the fact that her mom was torn apart by her growing up!

But she's still my little girl...Preston quickly joined her and they faked terror while being caught in a horrible rain storm with killer snakes ready to attack.

Happy Monday!  More cute pics coming soon to a blog near you.

Scrapping definitely comes in waves for me...and trying to dive back in right now.

Here are a couple of layouts I've done recently:

Have some reorganization of files to make the flow from laptop to desktop work a little better, it's a bigger job managing photos/scrapbooking files than it is to make the pages...but worth it in the end.

Hope you're all having a good week so far.
